I liked this story for the most part...I liked all the players and they synced nicely. La Veuve Noire is a strong minded, liberal and open minded individual. She embraces anyones' sexual preferences not normally accepted by the majority of the world. She constantly says "don't judge me" or people of a similar lifestyle as hers, yet freely becomes judge and jury to those who disagree with her ideas and philosophy. She's intolerant of those traditional minded people who also bear a right to their conservative beliefs and feelings and never realizes she ends up falling into the same category she places prejudiced and biased people...but on the opposite end of the spectrum. Ms. Chase delivered a profound and thought provoking piece of work, and though hard to read at times...it was worth the journey. I eagerly move on to the next installment...Falloir (Passion Noire Book 2)

So glad I got this book! Ya it has all the BDSM good stuff but it has a great story too. I honestly expected very little from this book but it has blown me away. This isnt just erotica for sex sake. This is a story about struggle, abuse, and fighting back! I am "the kids" biggest cheerleader! Go kid go!!!! Ok gotta go download book 2!
I love J.D.Chase was unsure if I would like Vouloir being a Domme themed book, but I love JD Chase so went with it.
It took me a few chapters to get into it but once I did it was an amazing read, totally different from anything I have read in the past.
The story flowed, gripped me and have some interesting twists and turns.
Vouloir follow's four different character's, Le Veuve Noire ~ the very sexy, strong fronted domme who tells you like it is but underneath seems vulnerable, Dean a sexy mummy's boy who is desperate to give women pleasure, Jones a strong sexy alpha who thinks he knows what he wants and 'The Kid' a 17 year old who acts younger, lost, scared and afraid of his own shadow.
The life's of each one of them changes throughout the book each helping the other with past and present demons.
I cannot wait to get started on Book 2 in this series.
This was an incredible book. Written by a new to me author, J.D. Chase, I will be searching for other works, and eagerly anticipating the sequel to this one. Set in London, the many English (British) words and phrases just made the book more authentic. The character development and plot were both outstanding. This author is quite the story teller. I went into the book with high expectations, both met and surpassed. This is not a book of erotica with sex scenes thrown in just for the sake of having them. Sex is an integral part of the book, but in such a way that it's more of an important backdrop to this very unique story line. I simply can not wait to see where it leads. There are so many unanswered questions and possibilities as to where this story will go from here. The sequels can not come fast enough. In the meantime, I have no doubt that my mind will be trying to guess as to what is next.
There are several reasons why I gave this book 5 stars. This author tackles difficult subjects and knows what she is talking about. She not only is knowledgeable on the subjects but expresses the emotions that go with it, such as sexual identity, suicide, etc.
She also teeters on the edge of the reader maybe being uncomfortable but I think that's a good thing. Anyone can write a "chic" romance book but it's a gift to write about an unconventional romance or a different type of romance and make the reader open their mind and feel someone else's view even if it's something the reader doesn't feel they would do. It's a gift to make the reader feel the characters pain and be able to connect with them.
This book had more than just sex, to be honest there were a few parts that were eye opening to me and surprising. I am pretty open and sexual but found myself learning a lot.
The book is written in 3 people's POV. I'm sure that was tricky but she pulled it off! The main female character was easy to like. It was interesting to see her strong and yet weak.
Dean is a frustrating guy who you find yourself hoping he gets his s*** together.
Jones is a guy you just wanna take to bed! She made him the perfect alpha male! I can't find any fault in him except he isn't in my bed. Lol
Of course the book ends with lots left to tell, I can't wait for the second and third book. I'm sure it won't be disappointing.
